Cruzers Celebrate New Year's Day

Sunday morning, January 1, 2017, dawned with calm water and beautiful silvery light shining on to Cowell Beach.

Over twenty CRUZers and friends gathered to celebrate the New Year with our annual "first-of-the-year" ocean swim.  Many of us jumped in and quickly jumped out, a good number swam to the lifeguard tower and back, and a hearty few swam to the end of the pier and back.

After pouring warm water over each other (provided by the Tom and Alida Canale), we shivered into our clothes and headed to Aquarius Restaurant, just above the beach, for a delicious post-swim  brunch.  

​The most requested order was, of course, hot chocolate!
