Cruz Cruise
The CRUZ Cruise is a 2mi swim starting from the east side of the wharf, going around the end of wharf, around a couple of buoys on the Cowell Beach side, and returning to the east side again for the finish.
2024 CRUZ Cruise results are here. Follow the Pacific Masters Schedule to learn about the next race! |
Training Swims
Many of our open water swimmers gather at Cowell Beach in Santa Cruz (on the west side of the wharf) to swim together on Sundays at 2pm.
Swimmers wearing wetsuits and swimmers without wetsuits are welcome. A variety of distance options are discussed amongst the group that shows up. These swims are, of course, subject to weather and sea conditions. |
Cowell Beach, Santa Cruz
There is limited metered parking at Cowell Beach, on the north side of the wharf. You can also pay to park on the wharf itself, or at the Boardwalk parking down the street. During the fall, winter, and spring you can park for free in the residential areas above the wharf; however, in the summer season a residential parking permit is required for these neighborhoods.
The video below appeared on Santa Cruz's cable channel, on the program called "Detours." It features our own Joel Wilson as well as a lot of ocean swimmers tackling the two Santa Cruz summer races in the year 2000.
